It's been a day. 1. I'm an aunt again. I love that I'm getting NIECES. Finally. Baby Vivian is perfect! 2. I got my flight info. BOO. It looks like I get into Cody July 25th at 12ish. Time flies. This week was good!!! I destroyed the elders in a scripture race and they are still bitter about it. We had a ward family home evening and we talked about the word of wisdom. It was wild. Our new friend Charles came to church this week..along with Papito. He tells us he needs to read the entire Book of Mormon to get baptized. Yikes. I did the math and in my time as sister training leader I will do a months worth of divisions. This week I did two, one with hermana Gubernick from California and another with hermana Miller from Utah (well she was born in Chile). I love hermana Gubernick. We talked about her potential and how she can reach it during her mission. She is a great hermana. Then I was with hermana Miller. She has two weeks in the mission but knows spanish because her mom is chilean. It was so fun to be with someone who is soooo fresh in the mission. She made me feel so good and by the end of the day we were joking around like old friends. She told me not to go home because she will be sad. Also a fun fact about my girl hermana Miller is that she is youtube famous. You know those three sisters that sing in spanish and english? yeah she's the alto of the group. she told me I can be sister number 4 when she gets back. Look up thier music on Youtube i love the song mix they did of "come thou fount and if you could hie to kolob"...they are called Eleyni Music :) I love you all soo very much and I love this work :) xoxo hermana brinkerhoff

This week I fell down the stairs. I need to watch where I am going when I have socks on. Papito is awesome. He has no problem with the Word of Wisdom or the Law of Chastity. We have a date set for the 8th of July. He didn't come to church yesterday :( He had to change houses, but we think it is still our sector. We told him we couldn't enter in his house if there wasn't a woman in the house...so he took out three chairs and we taught outside. Even in the cold the work doesn't stop. Nicol came to church all by herself yesterday. :) She has made many new friends. This week while contacting we met a girl named Javiera. We become to talk to her and during our conversation we told her, "you know that you are a daughter of God right?" A smile came across her face that melted my heart. She then told us, "no one has ever told me that, but I know now that I am." Ah. I could be a missionary forever thanks to moments like that. I really did fall down the stairs in our house. It was bad. I decided yesterday to ask for a blessing from the elders because I was in bad shape. As Elder Callister began to give me the blessing he said...."we want to give you a blessing...no your Heavenly Father wants to give you a blessing..." He then gave me one of the most beautiful priesthood blessings I've ever received. It was incredible and just what I needed in this time of my mission. In the blessing he repeated multiple times "your father in heaven is aware of you and he is aware of the sacrafices you are making." He also blessed me with the health I needed to finish my mission. I will be okay. I am really grateful for a Heavenly Father who knows us, who knows our desires, and I know He blesses us according to His will. Have a fantastic week. I love you all. xoxo Hermana Brinkerhoff What a week. I think I just followed my companion around while she did her going home stuff. I'm not going to lie....it was trunky.
A few things... 1. I started a new (and my last) change today. My new companion is Hermana Nacho (her name is sickkk I know) she is from Bolivia. 2. We are still chugging away here. We have so many good people, but no one wants to come to church because it's cold. Yikes. 3. I just feel wierd. I'm the oldest Hermana now. EWW. No. I'm going to be a missionary forever, right? This week while walking down the street we ran into a girl named Nicol. We started to chat and found out that she is a member. She is 16 and after a simple invite to an activity she came without problems. I was so happy. She wants to come back to the church, but just didn't know where it was. I've never really had the chance to work with to many less actives in my mission and it was just so fun to see that because we opened our mouths she came. The Lord really does use us to bless the lives of others. I am just His instrument. I love testifying of my Savior everyday. The mission is so great. xoxo Hermana Brinkerhoff Hey do you folks even read this bad boy anymore?
I hope so. This week I ate more than the elders. I know my mom is super happy right now. No but really I ate 5 breakfast burritos. It's a good thing to because lunch was..interesting :) I walk a lot. That is a blessing. Anyways, I'm going to stop pretending like I still have a good sense of humor because it is just not there anymore. My new best friend is a Hatian girl named Guirlande, but all of our Hatian investigators have been moving away. They just love to play with my heart like that. I did divisions with Hermana Sotomayor. She is the best. The best. Sometimes I feel like the hermanas know more of this mission stuff than I do. We had the best noche de hogar. We faked a plane crash and told everyone to read the scriptures. I better be in charge of activities at UW when I get home. The mission has taught me some fun stuff. My companion is so funny. She goes home next week. It's not fair. I love her. Papito is our potential in this moment. He still doesn't speak english or spanish. Here is you homework for the week...if you read this article write me back this "yo lei" ¿lo hare? (insert accent mark on the "e") https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2017/04/the-power-of-the-book-of-mormon?lang=eng We did a photo shoot. I'm trying to choose a picture to print and give to all my favorite people here in Chile. It's like highschool all over again. xoxo hermana brinkerhoff |
